Bruce County

Bruce County’s Children's Services plans and manages the local child care system, focusing on the integration of government initiatives, inter-agency coordination, and the development of new programs and services. Bruce County directly operates a Child Care Fee Subsidy program, Home Child Care program, Preschool Resource program and Ontario Early Years Centres.

Bruce Grey Catholic District School Board

The Bruce Grey Catholic District School Board ensures a quality learning experience through community partnerships that nurture each student in body, mind and spirit and embraces the teachings of Christ.  The School Board provides 11 elementary and 2 secondary schools.

Bruce Grey Child and Family Services

Bruce Grey Child & Family Services works under the mandate of the Ontario Child & Family Services Act responsible for protecting children from abuse, neglect and other forms of maltreatment. 

BGCFS works with parents to provide a safe and nurturing environment for their children. GBCFS provides counselling, teaching and support programs as well as referrals to other community services, all designed to keep children safe and well at home. If children need to live elsewhere while their parents work to make their home safe, BGCFS will arrange temporary care with family or a safe and caring foster home. BGFS will work with parents and extended family to create a plan for the children to either return home or, if necessary, find another family.

Community Living Kincardine & District

Community Living Kincardine & District (CLKD) provids support to individuals with developmental disabilities living in the municipalities of Kincardine, and Huron Kinloss.  Using a Person Centred approach, individuals and families identify supports required to facilitate participation in all aspects of community life. 

CLKD hosts an Infant and Child Development program that supports families with babies, toddlers, and young children who are either at risk of a developmental delay/showing delays, or who were born with a disability. Family Support is designed to provide support to families that have a child or adult family member living in their home that has a developmental disability. The program seeks to strengthen family involvement by providing information and support to advocate and assist in obtaining the appropriate resources and services for their family member. 

The Out of Home Respite (OHR) program which is designed to provide out of the home alternate respite care to help children with special needs (less than 18 years of age) with physical and / or developmental disabilities who live at home and require 24 hours a day care.

Community Living Owen Sound and District

Community Living Owen Sound and District assists adults and children with developmental needs to live, work and participate fully in the community as valued partners.

Family Support provides assistance and support with short and long term planning, locating and accessing information, resources and services to meet individual needs and will provide ongoing emotional support, information and guidance for families.  We can answer questions and respond to concerns related to education, funding, future planning, supportive groups, respite, community supports and professional resources. 

Children’s Services provides a range of family-centred services including home visiting, play-based early intervention activities and resources for families with infants, toddlers and pre-schoolers who may be at risk for delays in their development or who may have a developmental delay. Special Needs Resource Consultants provide services in the Early Childhood Education setting with a focus on transitional planning for entry into kindergarten as well as the modelling of inclusive best practices in child care.

Grey Bruce Public Health

The Grey Bruce Health Unit works with individuals, families, organizations and communities to support health knowledge and create healthy environments where we live, work, play and learn.

The Health Unit offers a variety of learning opportunities and services such as information on parenting and child development, an on-line prenatal course, home-visiting program, breastfeeding support, dental services, nutrition and physical activity resources, smoking cessation, immunization and support for creating healthy schools in Grey and Bruce.

Grey County

Grey County Social Services delivers employment, financial, housing and children’s services so that individuals and families are encouraged and empowered to overcome challenges and move toward greater self-sufficiency.

Keystone Child, Youth and Family Services

Keystone is a Children’s Mental Health Centre offering free, voluntary mental health services to children and youth 0 to 17 and their families.  We have been designated by the Province of Ontario as Lead Agency for Grey and Bruce County. 

Our counselling, groups, and workshops address a wide range of mental health issues and our Residential program manages high risk youth 12 to 17.  Our prevention services include Ontario Early Years Centres, Parent Mutual Aid sites, Cradelink and Healthy Beginnings.  Specialized ABA programming and respite services are also available.

TVCC is a regional rehabilitation centre for children and young adults with physical disabilities, communication disorders, developmental delays and autism spectrum disorders. 

TVCC offers a range of community-based supports and services including preschool occupational and physiotherapy, therapeutic recreation supports as well as youth discovery services.  TVCC also supports children, youth, their families and educators to find solutions to help them write, or communicate in person(face to face) when low technology strategies and therapy have not met their needs. Children and families in Grey-Bruce counties can also access TVCC centre-based supports and services regarding postural seating and wheelchair mobility needs, as well as access a range of Clinics that offer medical and rehabilitation specialists to address issues that impact function and participation.

TVCC's Autism Services offer intensive behavioural intervention (IBI) to children who have been diagnosed with autism toward the severe end of the autism spectrum. In addition, TVCC and its Lead Partner Agency, Keystone Child, Youth & Family Services offer ABA-based services and supports for children and youth with ASD.

United Way of Bruce Grey

United Way Bruce Grey works to meet urgent human needs and improve social conditions by mobilizing the community’s volunteer and financial resources.  

The United Way provides support to children, youth and families such as utility assistance, backpack program, 211 information services, school nutrition programs and emergency response support.

The YMCA of Owen Sound Grey Bruce is a charity dedicated to building a caring, healthy community by creating opportunities for all people to achieve personal growth in spirit, mind and body.
The YMCA builds strong kids, strong families and strong communities by providing opportunities for personal development in the following program areas: Aquatics, Health, Fitness and Recreation, Child Care, Community and Justice, Housing Support and Employment Services.
